The colour you can’t get wrong

A navy dress for a wedding is about as safe as it gets: it flatters every skin tone, never dates and sits easily alongside the guests’ suits. It’s also a classic for bridesmaids and mothers of the bride who want something elegant without the severity of black.

Long or short, day or evening

Of the 29 designs, 23 are long. For a daytime ceremony, matte chiffon (on 15 designs) is still the best choice. For the evening, satin (on 7 designs) catches the light and gives the blue real depth. Eleven dresses are backless, better kept for evening receptions and civil ceremonies.
