Satin wedding dresses

A satin wedding dress catches the light and sculpts the silhouette. The fabric brings body, a soft sheen and clean lines: it’s the fabric of structured dresses, where the drape does the talking rather than the embellishment.

What satin brings to a wedding dress

Weight and structure. Where chiffon floats, satin falls and holds its line. It defines drapes and pleats, turning them into a design feature in their own right. And its soft sheen, subtler than a high-shine fabric, is enough to make a dress feel special without any embellishment at all.

Satin or mikado?

Both give structure, but in different ways. Mikado is stiffer, almost architectural: it holds bold volumes and crisp pleats on its own. Satin is softer and more luminous, and follows the body more closely. For a close-fitting cut, choose satin; for a skirt that has to keep its volume, choose mikado.

A fabric that demands precision

Satin is unforgiving: it shows every seam and every fold, and marks more easily than matte fabrics. It’s a fabric for formal ceremonies rather than a wedding in a field. For an outdoor wedding, look at our flowy and straight dresses instead.

Try them on at a bridal shop

Satin is best judged in person, under the light. Our dresses can be tried on at partner boutiques, by appointment: once you’ve found your nearest stockist, ask about the design you love.
