Long mikado wedding guest dress with ruffled one-shoulder neckline

A long mikado dress. The neckline is asymmetric: one shoulder is bare, the other carries a series of pleated ruffles that rise above the shoulder. The bodice is draped in a sweetheart shape, the pleats starting from the covered shoulder.

At the waist, a cascading peplum unfolds over the right hip and falls to a point, continuing round the back as a full panel.

The skirt is fitted over the hip with a high front slit, and lined with a panel that starts at the waist and flares widely towards the back into a train. The back opens in a deep curve between the shoulder blades.

The body of the fabric makes this play of volumes possible, with ruffles at the shoulder and a panel at the back, without weighing down the silhouette.
