Choose your wedding veil after your dress, never before: its length, edging and sheerness all depend on the back, the train and the lace it needs to show off. Our veils are cut from the same tulles as our wedding dresses.

Veil lengths, from shoulder to cathedral

There are five lengths to know. A shoulder-length veil stops above the bust, an elbow-length veil at mid-arm and a fingertip veil at your fingertips: the three lengths that let you move freely. A chapel veil extends just beyond the hem of the dress, onto the floor. A cathedral veil goes much further, two to three metres beyond the dress, and needs an aisle or a staircase to make its full impact.

Cut edge, lace edge or embroidered veil?

A clean cut edge all but disappears and keeps the focus on the dress: the safe choice when your dress is already detailed. A lace edge frames the veil and should then match the lace on your dress, or you'll end up with two competing patterns. A fully embroidered or beaded veil becomes the star of the show and calls for a simple dress, such as a satin wedding dress or another minimalist design.

What should your veil show?

A fine tulle veil stays sheer and lets a backless or buttoned back show through; a denser tulle hides it. If the back of your dress is its best feature, choose the lightest veil in the range, or a short veil that stops above it. The same goes for a detailed train: a cathedral veil laid over it will cover it up.

One tier or two?

A two-tier veil adds a short blusher layer over the long one. It's designed to be worn over the face as you walk down the aisle, then lifted back. Without that moment, it simply adds volume at the back of the head.

Don't forget the shade

A pure white veil over an ivory dress is noticeable at first glance, and even more so in photos. Our veils come in the same shades as our dresses: ask the boutique to let you try the veil with the dress, not next to it.

Where to try our veils

Our veils are available from the partner boutiques that stock our wedding dresses, by appointment. Each has its own selection: find a stockist near you and ask which veils they have in store.
["GET
